 Today I'm going to talk about. top teams and how my team got last but had fun. Me and my team won like 5 activities and there was Blaketown and kamara. There was the gumboot toss and the gutter ball thing. In stack the planks we tied. There was a hula hoop and 3 water games. In my group I had Mrio Jari and little kids.

The name of Fiji's main island, Viti Levu, served as the origin of the name Fiji though the common English pronunciation is based on that of Fiji's island neighbors in Tonga. If you think about Fiji and picture an island oasis, you’d be spot on. Picture hammocks swaying in the breeze between two coconut trees, friendly, vibrant local culture and people, interesting villages, and wild jungle that ends where the bright beach begins. Fiji is set in the middle of the South Pacific Ocean, less than 4 hours flight east of Brisbane and Sydney. It is made up of more than 330 islands and is surrounded by Vanuatu and New Caledonia to the west, Samoa and Tonga to the east, and New Zealand to the south.

I'm going to talk about Tsunamis, how they are made, where Tsunamis have happened, and the warning signs of a Tsunami. The word tsunami comes from Japan because Japan has experienced many tsunamis over the years.

Tsunamis are giant waves caused by underwater earthquakes or Volcanic eruptions.

 Tsunami waves do not dramatically increase.Tsunamis can occur in any major body of water. A Tsunami can be caused by a giant meteor, although this is rare.

Scientists have evidence to believe an asteroid-collision created a giant tsunami that swept around the Earth several times, flooding everything except the tallest mountains 3.5 billion years ago. The coastline of continents was changed dramatically and almost all life on land was exterminated.

 In 2004 there was a tsunami In Indonesia that happened on boxing day there were 100-foot waves. There were 230,000 people killed. It was the day after Christmas and thousands of European and American tourists had flocked to the beaches of Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia to escape the cold winter.

 moko facial tattoos were traditional in Maori culture until about the mid 19th century when their use began to disappear, although there has been something of a revival from the late 20th century. In pre-European Māori culture they denoted high social status. There were generally only men that had full facial moko, though high-ranked women often had moko on their lips and chins. moko tattoos served as identifying connection between an individual and their ancestors.

moko marked rites of passage for people of chiefly rank, as well as significant events in their lives. Each moko was unique and contained information about the person's rank, tribe, lineage, occupation and exploits. Moko were expensive to obtain and elaborate moko were usually limited to chiefs and high-ranked warriors. Moreover, the art of moko, the people who created and incised the designs, as well as the moko themselves, were surrounded by strict tapu and protocol.

Today we did a quiz and one of the questions was about Toi Moko. The hardest thing was writing the words down.

facts about anzac

1. The anzac were all volunteers,until Conscription came About This means that people were randomly picked and had to go.

2.Anzac day was not a public holiday In Australia until 1921. However it was Not observed  formally in all states.Now on April 25th   every year in New zealand also we all take time to remember those who lost their lives so we could have freedom. 

3. 25april was officially named anzac day in 1923,the name anzac day was chosen through a competition and stands for australian new zealand army corp.

Method

We gathered different materials to experiment with whether they would compost. These materials were:

Chips

Cookies

Wool

Banana skins

Mandarin skins

Sandwiches

When then dug holes in the compost area and buried these items.

After 2.5weeks we dug up the items to see whether they had decomposed.

Making music at Capital E

We went to visit Capital E in Wellington and we got to go on computers and make our own music. We made music using a programme on computers and we had to decide what instruments to use, if we would use singers and what type of music . We had to listen to our music with big head phones. This is my music
